know it's been done to death but can't find the thread. what's the best place/make for engine mounts, suspect I may need a pair.....

Does a TS1 vibrate any more than any other 225 kit?

I;ve only 'handled' the new Scootopia mounts. They feel and look spot-on. Not 'sloppy' but not overly stiff (gonna get myself in trouble with the inuendo crew here I can tell) and IMHO the best suspect for my next large block build ('tuned' of course). I was equally? baffled by the 'not for TS1' advisory and have asked the question and still awaiting response. In my mind they are potentially quite the opposite.
Perhaps until proven here are a few examples of some real life experiences:
SIL on Kawa 230 conversion 'Tino' crank: acceptable I had 're-inforced' ie. 'packed' the tubes inside the mount on this build though
SIL on Suz 190 conversion (same crank): white finger syndrome. (no re-inforcment this was actually earlier than the 230 above)
Tutto Lambretta on Rapido 250 sublime, only felt 'lurch' at tickover, well worth the dollar
Casa Solid (to replace the Tutto when they wore out) on the same 250 engine: appaling transmission of everything road surface upwards in comparison.
However
Casa Solid on small block GT 200cc (66 bore 58/116 rod) smooth as fcuk, taught in cornering .
Bit of an eye opener for me as how inportant the correct mounts can be.
Lookin forward to testing the Scootopia ones, will in future choose more carefully never go back to SIL....they are probably be just fine if u are only in your 20s or 30s and on a budget though!

I've just shelled out £45 on a set of BGM mounts. Anyone used these before?
got em on my SX 200 seem fine
Ah, sorry, I was a bit cryptic with that description. That one is a Richard Taylor GT186 kit bored to 66mm with a Yamaha DT175 piston and a packer.corrado wrote:Apart from the GT200 did any of the other set ups use a 116 rod?
Standard Lambrettas using 116 rod/ 30mm crown height pistons are TV175's S2 and S3. The GT/TV 200- is normal 107 rodded, 39mm crown height piston.
The RB20 uses a 116 rodded crank (Yam Blaster 200 piston, similar to the DT175 one)
A couple of older Jap conversions require them on full 101mm high barrels: Suzuki 190 (TS185 piston) And Kawasaki 230/240 (H2 750 piston) with a thick base gasket: but probably better with Yamaha 115 rod conversions nowadays or the RB20 crank.
