gugeon pin circlips

gave my series 1 a de-coke and was concerned to see the gugeon pin circlips whilst not displaced were easily rotated in their groves, so when rebulding i used new clips and these were similarly `loose`, they dont seem at all likely to displace, should i worry? the piston is only about 3k miles old
