Vespa PX/EFL Ignition Grub screw rusted into frame

Hi All,

I'm just srtipping my well rusted 84 PX/EFL frame for spraying and the Grub screw has rusted into the frame. The thread head on the grub screw is F****d and I have tried to drill it out, but I don't want to damage the thread on the frame (any further).

Any advice on how to get it out of the frame without buggering thread further and if it is already buggered how can I fix it, so it will stay in position when I put it back together.
cheers Chris

just drill it out. make the hole bigger (to , say M5, ) and use a bigger grub screw. make the recess in the ignition a bit bigger to suit. its not seen when the horncast is on....I wouldn't worry about it.

piece of p155 to tap a thread in that. I wouldn't bother to buy the gear, the steel is that thin there, it"ll tap itself when you screw it in, or use a self tapper screw with the end ground off. it only needs locating, no strength is involved.
