Hi there,
Been having a bit of bother with my 2005 PX, Just fitted a new Malossi 166 kit as the old one was knackered, fitted new clutch plates and new clutch cable, which has been adjusted correctly. The problem is when sitting in neutral she ticks over fine, when popped into first gear it cuts out unless the revs are high. The weird thing is I am still able to ride her (with high revs) with the clutch fully pulled in!?
Is this something to do with the new clutch plates?
Any ideas?

Yes mate its called "clutch drag", in my experience cosa type clutches are a pain in the ass when using non genuine clutch plates.
treat yourself to a set of genuine cork plates soak them in oil for 24 hours and it should be sorted.

The one fitted were genuine cork plates that had been soaked overnight in gear oil.

the only other thing i can think of then is have you put the steels back in the right order, with the thicker one first ?

Mmmm might need to double check? It’s like the engine is not disengaging when the clutch is pulled in.

i had the same trouble with my sons mate, but i got told the same information as i have given you and it sorted his out a treat, i never even
noticed the thicker steel at first.

keep trying to ride it with high revs with the lever pulled in, and you"ll soon burn the clutch out. thick plate first , then the one with the notch , then the next 2. use some stronger springs while its out and in bits.

Also while the clutch is disassembled i'd check to make sure the corks n steels aren't warped excluding steel with a notch which is meant to be bowed also wipe off any excess oil on cork plates after soaking in oil both of these can prevent a clutch from disengaging properly

Looks like the problem has been identified. The steel plates have worn around the teeth, so that it slips.
Is there any reason for this?
