hello,

iv been playing around for weeks to get my malossi 210 running right enough so i can then get it dynoed and set up correctly but i keep hitting stumbling blocks,

best iv had it running so far is -

phbh 28

av 262

x2 - 2nd clip down

48 pilot

115 main

40 slide,

70 choke

running it with malossi hose instead of a foam filter,

with the 115 main iv managed to get rid of as much bog as possible around half throttle but it now bogs in 4th

i think the 115 main is a bit too low, haven't checked plug colour yet though,

iv been told to try, 117 main, av 264, x7 or x13 needle and go from there, any other ideas?

Is it standard crank/inlet or cut/race? Casings matched to kit? What exhaust?

I'd be wanting to see AV264/266 atomisers, circa X13 needle, 52-55 pilot, 125-135 main.....all spec dependant, as per above post/questions....

crank is cut and polished - its a mec eur crank,

casings have been matched to the malossi 210 kit, running a LH jl sip performer pipe

standard inlet which has been opened up a bit

Do people still polish cranks? Lol ;)

Yup..... I prefer my jetting ball-park to yours.

I'd lose the filter and start from scratch if I were you.

dunno thats how it came,

i will try the x7 and x13 with the av 264,

it is possible the malossi hose could be causing the probs, i will give it a go with a gauze or a foam filter see if there is any difference

ive got a 28mm delly on my 172 malossi T5 , and it runs 55 pilot , av262/ x2 top clip, 40 slide 70 choke, 130 main on a sito plus 21/68 T5 gearbox, malossi air hose to frame. that main and pilot look lean to me . I don't like running big carbs on a vespa open mouthed because of all the s**t chucked up by the back wheel. the last 2 malossis ive had ,a tuned 221 and this 172, have both ran the frame bellows, the 210 needed a 132 main , and the 172 the 130 main, both Dellortos with the rest similar. I drill out the fuel /needle valve to 3.5mm (350) as well to get a better flow. get that PX125 gearbox bought in the for sale section and stick that in man, the P2 gearbox is s**t for a 210.

originally i had in

av 262, x2 2nd clip down, 40 slide, 70 choke, 125 main and 50 pilot, and it just spluttered and bogged, so went leaner and it then started performing better,

or should i have gone the other way, is it spluttering because its not getting enough fuel???

i will have a play about tonight

as for the gearing, it has an 120/90/10 over sized rear tyre so i put in 22/68 i think to compensate for it being over sized, then put in a t5 4th gear on the p2 gearbox

might be your fuel /needle valve, what is it now? like I said , I run a drilled one , but a 300+ is what you want in. most PHBH Dellys come with a 200/225 because they are for pumped fuel systems. without riding it, its hard to diagnose.
