Im struggling to set up my inboard disc conversion wondered what im doing wrong.I have put new seals in the slave cylinder this pushes back nice and easily by hand new pads but every time I set up the static pad ie back it off half a turn wheel spins freely pull brake lever it then seems to bind slightly,also forgot to add has a new disc as well HELP !!!!!

Have you got the disc circlip fitted, the one that sits in the middle of the disc? If so, take it out and try it.

Is the nut locking plate fitted? That keeps the nut from tightening or undoing. Mine used to become undone after about 10 miles after adjusting but I found out that I wasn't bending the flaps over sufficiently for it to hold the nut. Strong pair of thin nosed pliers did the trick, well until I binned it for an outboard that works far better.

The pads in a disc brake are always in gentle contact with the disc. They clamp on tightly when braking. So it's probably normal.

mine does this too I'm hoping it'll settle in with a bit of use but you also need to make sure that the static pad is free to move in it's hole. If it sticks at all it can cause problems with adjustment.

Hi thanks for you replies,all sorted now i made sure there was no paint on the pins then noticed that there was a small amount on the centre boss which was causing centre of disc to bind what a dickhead thanks again
