Hi All,

As living in New Zealand and having an SIL 1985 GP, we need to have a front brake switch fitted, I know I can solve it by going to front hydraulic set-up but I first have to get it tested using standard lever and cable.

How can I INSERT or MODIFY my standard set to have a working front brake switch. I have a wiring loom to cater for both indicators and front brake switch

Is there after market piece i could or something

Your thoughts please?

Super easy to wire up since you have the loom already.

Just remove the brake cable inner and cut the outer in two pieces and add new ends (somewhere in the headset). Insert the cable switch between the two cable ends and run your new inner. Connect to your loom and adjust your brake to activate the switch. Keep in mind they are not great switches to begin with so you'll find that for the switch to work you might have a front brake that is dragging or you need to squeeze the heck out of the lever to get it to activate. the brake cable can also feel a little spongy too but that's just me. I like a nice positive instant on brake.

If its just for testing then hopefully it will hold up long enough to pass.
