ScootRS parts and their quality

I have read varying reports on forums about this company, many good, some bad and although I am getting most of the items from the UK for my full restoration project there are some items that they have that are very competitively priced.

Does anyone have any experience with items from this shortlist from them?

Deluxe dual seat cover
Badges
Spring rack
Rear foot rails
LIS/SX headlight surround
LED rear light
Kickstart lever
Uprated chain guides.

If there is anything else you think I should consider I would very much appreciate it.

I usually find Scootrs very good, great value really.

Deluxe dual seat cover Good
Badges Good
Spring rack Good
Rear foot rails Good better than CASA
LIS/SX headlight surround Good but like the CASA ones they aren't perfect, none of the remade ones seem that great
LED rear light Good
Kickstart lever Good
Uprated chain guides. Good

Hmm, SOME of the stuff is fine but not always as cheep as you might think by the time the import duty and shipping is paid. I would advise you to look as Scooter Restorations website, UK based and have an impeccable reputation for service and supplying good quality parts...prices are very competitive too.

I have tried their SX style headlight rims and found them a not bad fit but made from VERY brittle metal that snapped fitting it. I bought a CASA one from Mersea parts fair a couple of years ago for the same price and it fits perfectly and has been on and off dozens of times and is still in one piece.

The difference in price from just the seat from Casa / SR / CamLam makes up for the shipping and duty. The other items will thus just be at cost price.
Interesting that all the items have good reviews, thanks for that.

A couple of other things I would like opinions on:
12v Regulator
Horn / Light switch
Seat Spring kit

Nearly all of the parts I am buying are from Scooter Restorations, with some from Casa and a few items from CamLam.

When I started looking at prices for parts between the most well known dealers I was surprised the price differences. It made buying everything from one dealer expensive and with careful planning and comparison it looks like I can save around £200 over a list that's adds up to over a thousand.

There are other UK stockists that also had very competitive prices, cheaper than SR but with me shipping them out to me here, and that not being cheap, I didn't want to risk it.

I've bought a lot from Scootrs over the years and saved a lot of money but I also get quite a bit from SR. I've also used CamLam but never had much luck with them. I also like some of MBD's own made parts.

Interesting re CamLam.

Best avoided?
