Progressive fork springs vs standard

I am about to start rebuilding the front forks on my Li150 Special and am wondering if the progressive forks would be an upgrade or not. The bike is stock with drum brake and the old springs have gone soft so my question is will the ride be ok through potholes with the progressives or will it be crashy?

As a general rule I try to avoid pot holes but hey to each their own right?
I run progressive springs in all 3 of my road bikes (tv200, li190, rb20) and I also have dampners on the forks.
Not quite sure what crashy means but I suspect you mean fork dive. PS will not eliminate that problem as you want some movement in the front end (if not the front wheel would wash out all the time) but some people like a harder feeling front end when it comes to suspension, espicially if they are agressive riders.

Thanks, but by crashy I mean hard and tiring and I don't plan on fitting dampers.
I am not an aggressive rider but at the moment with saggy springs the front dives too much and the wheel touches the mudguard (although the buffers are probably shot too).

I've fitted BGM dampers and MB progressive springs to three different Lambrettas recently. I would describe the end result as so stiff it is bone jarring. The MB springs are enough.

Thats what I am afraid of.
Would this be the case say with the Casa or SR ones?

Sounds like you need to back off on the damper settings, I find it a nice reassuring stable ride, particularly with an antidive setup.
