I think I have read everything there is on fitting the analogue Westach clamp on probe/ sensor and gauge .
It seems pretty simple ......... drill hole on down tube before bend , fit clamp and probe , route to back of gauge and that`s it.
Is 1.1m length enough ? Should I buy the type of probe with the 90 deg angle in it .
Just seems too straightforward to me :?

You have it right there, it's really simple as those probes actually generate the electrical current as a chemical reaction re lated to temperature. I would definitely recommend the rightangle type though, mine has lasted well over a thousand miles wheras the 2 straight ones I had lasted no more than a hundred.
