I know nothing about Vespas, but may have an opportunity to buy a 1988 PX125E. Are they any good or are they possible to tune? What could such a thing be worth, although I've not seen it, I understand its a runner?

Pretty much the same as any other PX made before or since.
There's plenty of scope for tuning and loads of kits available.
As to worth...what you're prepared to pay for it. Will really depend on the condition. A quick search on Fleabay would suggest anywhere from £800 up for a runner but there's some on there for what I'd consider silly money.

"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better."
