Reading in scootering about late px125's having a restricted cdi, how can you tell if a px is fitted with one? I'm just about to change a mate's (1 year old) px125 to a new exhaust and upjet, inplace of the factory cat system.

new PX"s have a multiplug going into a KOKOSAN CDi unit, and not the separate red/white/green/green of a standard Ducati style CDi. they have a different stator as well, with 12 coils . Readspeed are doing a de-restricted CDi I think.

Thanks. Thankfully he had the standard cdi unit.

Daft, newcomers question....

Would you need to alter the jetting or anything if you replaced the restricted CDI with a de-restricted one?

Im about to fit a sito-plus and upjet to replace the cat exhaust my 64 plate px125 has.

Its currently a 96 main jet.

After that , the others things to do would be replace the air filter with the holes drilled out & then change the throttle slide.

Anything else to do to get it back to a anything like the old standard px?

you need to upjet for the exhaust and then for the drilled airbox

98 for the exhaust and 100 for the exhaust/airfilter then a plug chop to make sure
