hi,just stripped down my ts1 225 & noticed that my af race crank which has done a few 1000 mls has a little bit more play in it than it used to have, not 100% happy about putting it back together & running it like this so i was wondering if i could run with a brand new mec gp road/race crank that i have spare, just wondered if it would be up to the job?my ts1 kit is straight out the box & not tuned in any way. thanks for any info. db

I'd go for a MEC crank over an AF one all day long

I'm also a big fan of MEC cranks. The webs are much tighter than AF race cranks and they are maybe the best basis for putting a top class rod and piston in to handle really high revs/horsepower.

thanks for the quick replies!so you think it would be safe to use as it is on a straight out the box untuned ts1 225?i just want to be sure before i fit it !! thanks again db

I would say so I'm using a 60mm one on my 230 iron barrel and am confident it'll stand it. The rod is a bit heavy if you wanted to rev much over 8000 rpm.
