Tidying Casings

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

I just acquired some new Indian casings and the castings are very rough.

He's anybody any tips or experience tidying up all the casting flash etc.?

Last one I did was with light grit flappy wheel, boring demoralising and darn long winded but came up well :grin:
Oh and you get ally bogeys :lol: so wear a mask :oops:

What number light grit did you use please? I've got a casing to do as well and have to buy some flap wheels but they go from 40 to 400. I know the higher the number the finer the grit, but I don't want o go out and buy 400's and find they won't touch the surface.

Ive got 40/60/80 they did the job, the type that looks like a lollypop but I woundnt suck one :shock:

I just sanded it with 100 grit and then bead blasted it the blasting smoothed out the sanding marks
