Jockeys Boxenstop Brake kits

Can you use the Jockeys brake kits on the front as well as the back? I think Ive only heard of people using them on the back?

I believe they were designed for the problems of poor rear brakes with various shoes being blacksmith made.Scootering did an article,was the answer in there?Cheers,Speedy.

I cant think of any physical reason why you couldn't unless the shoe pegs are cast in to the back plate rather that screw in like the rear ones

Their primary purpose is to overcome the issue of the pegs not being in the correct position in relation to the layshaft which precludes the shoes centralising. I guess the holes in the shoes could contribute to that problem.

It would be cheaper to purchase another hub half. :idea:

So basically it's to overcome badly built tat :D .I know it makes em work better,or as they should. By the way,I like that word ,'Precludes',top word of the day for me,that one. :D

Who in the uk stocks these ? ( google search only seems to bring up many forum threads and there site of course)

I bought mine direct from Jockeys - very quick turnaround.
