Cyclone 5 speed cluster update!

As those of you who had the ordered the 2nd batch of Cyclone 5 gear sets will know RLC recalled all the clusters as DRT had altered the interference fit in an attempt to improve on the power capability of the loose gears, this has resulted in a few cases of split gears & they in turn spinning on the cluster.

The revised Cyclone cluster has 1st & 2nd machined into the cluster shaft, as per the original but 3rd & 4th are now pressed on as a pair giving a greater surface area to resist spinning & 5th pressed on as before.
Most of you should have received your replacement by now.

At Lydden Hill this weekend we fitted to Uffy's Memorial Scooter a revised cluster for the Cyclone 5 gearbox.
The scooter is a 36bhp RB250 motor Group 6 special & ran with no problems.

Below is what Stuart Day said having ridden it over the weekend.

"Uffys memorial scooter .4 races and it didn't miss a beat . The last race we fitted a cyclone 5 speed gearbox which was awesome , keeping it in the power band . Great handling and performance scooter."

If you wish to see any of the race meeting pictures I have posted them on Facebook for all to see.

Thanks for letting us know this Ian.

I was going to ask Stuart the same, as I wondered if he'd used a stronger race/F1 version (if such a thing exists), but to find out he's given the latest road version a thorough testing is great news for everyone!

Cheers :-)
