Nearly there now, just need to sought out the rear strut and cable up then its dyno time.
Once its been dynoed need to decide if the proto pipe needs modifying and if not then its a complete strip down, spray job and rebuild all in time for the scooter shootout :)

Everything was built up and tested, not dynoed yet but decided to strip and rebuild prior to dyno session :)
So as much weight as possible removed ready to prep, spray and add fibreglass panels, got a compressor and gun that I bought years ago so I'll put that to use asap :)

Heres where we start:

Hi new to the forum and think the spec in your small frame is awsome!!

I have a vespa 50 with a PK 125 - 135 Malossi fully ported conversion. It know needs the upgearing and was looking at fitting the exact same DRT as you have fitted. Now the downside is nobody I know has got any small frame knowledge and when I googled fitting it someone said you can fit the new primary and gear without removing the engine, jsut the exhaust and the rear wheel.

Would really appreciate your advise as some scooter workshops nearby are quoting me £250 just for fitting even if I supply the parts!

All the best with yours...........you might need the stabiliser frame that Falc uses when yours is sorted :D

Hi There,

If your changing the the primaries then the engine has to be split Im afraid as the primary basket is secured by a circlip on the inside of the casings. Also if you have a three speed box now may be a good time to upgrade to four. If you already have a four speed box or are upgrading to one then now may also be a good time to buy a DRT runner which reduces the gap between third and forth found on a standard box. If you do go for a runner upgear to 27/69 primaries. That should be enough for now however as usual if you have your casings apart and they havent been apart for some time then you may want to replace your bearings, seals, gaskets and o-rings.

Where abouts are you?

Thanks for the reply

The previous owner had already upgraded to four gears. Shame about having to split the casings as I am by no means any good with spanners, so looks like a workshop job!

Live in Warrington, Cheshire

Cheers

That's a shame, it really is a simple job. Is there nobody from the local club that can help out? Pop over to the gas works for a pint as I'm sure that's where they hang out nowadays. Ps I was born in warrington :) I live in Northants now. If I was still there I would have done it for you :)
