Right. I swapped out my beutifull Vespa GS160 MK.1 for 2 lambrettas.

Problem is that within a week both lammies ended up on the workbench. My li series 2 is undergoing an engine transplant and front disk upgrade and that part was planned.
just waiting for a few bits and pieces and that should be plain sailing. Iv`e fit the engine and Jockey`s boxenstop brake kit, just need to swap out the tank and glovebox.



What i didn`t plan on doing, at least until winter, was my DL. The clutch lasted a week, fit new plates and they lasted 2 weeks. So today I fit a new AF 6 plate and I am in the process of swapping out the hydraulic clutch for a standard type.



The bit I am stuck on is where the kick shaft should be possitioned? Does this look right?



It also looks like the builder has shortend the gear change rod, so i now understand why it felt like the handlebars were off-center. (throttle tube is longer). The thing is that my new grips seem too short. Is there diferent legnths?

S2 grips are longer tahen S3 grips

My advice: Drill-out the blanks for the kick-start ramp. Tap the bores M6 X 20mm. Install an early Li or SX kick start ramp with 3 x M6 x 18 + 3 X m6 wavy washer.

Cut the kick start ramp off the GP end-plate. (Angle Grinder involved if you are squimish)

Install as pre-GP chaincase, but probably with the styoooopid GP thrust bush for the spaaarrstic GP pressure plate if that is all you have got to hand.

Not excactly what I was asking advice about young fella, but nice to see you all the same.

From memory that looks right as the KS always covers one of the ramp bolts heads and you have to turn the shaft a bit in the vice to get at the bolt head.

Clutch done and dusted. More work than i though it would be as i needed a new adjuster block fitting and the cables go through the frame.



The brake looks a lot better now too.



I have to order some parts so i can convert the rear brake with a Boxenstop jobbie instead of the hydraulic disk. The disk works great but after suffering a few misshaps with lammy rear hubs I just don`t trust a hub that har 3 big holes in the flange and a couple of kilo`s of weight screwed to it.

wheres the front brake lever and master cylinder from, looks a smart bit of tackle....

I bought both mine from jockey`s boxenstop, MMW branded.

You can also buy them from LTH in germany with their own branding.

He is one installed where the owner has shaped the handle to match the other side.

They fit well and go streight on without any messing about and the master is naturaly vertical when installed aiding bleeding.

Had another dabble today.

I took a long range tank out of a series 2 and it didnt fit my scoot.

Looks like i will re-fit the 13l tank and toolbox as it does have a recess for a carb but my 34 delly flaslide is too tall.

I would like to fit a smaller carb anyway but can`t decide on what to go for.

Mikuni is what i am used to but searching around the internet, it looks like there is more info out on the 30mm PHBH.

Is the PHBH physicaly smaller than the vhsb I have now? Most importantly in hight.

Yes PHBH is considerably smaller than VHSB (height) so is the Keihin PWK. The SCK catalogue usefully has a comprehensive list of commonly used carb dimensions in it.

I like the master cylinder, but would have to soften the sharp looking edges and corners for any of my Lambrettas (looks good on the GP though). Is it raw aluminium with satin surface or coated?
