bearings and end cans

Have an empty end can sleeve with no pipe end, internal mesh inner or fixing plate for the end. Question I have is, is it worth buying all the parts to rebuild it or am i better off just buying a new one. Its a scootrs sleeve so its not really a good starting point... 
Would prob need one place to buy the bits i need as postage to diff companies prob wouldnt be cost effective. Do fancy having a go though...
Also anyone reccoment best place for a good quality mag side bearing for an RB?
