right ,well id have to assume then that a 175 conversion piston is going to be too long without packers and such like ,you would probbably be better off with a series 2/3 barrel

probably easier as you say to use a series 2 or 3 cylinder . just built up a series 1 150 frame breather engine and wanted to use as much as I could of the original engine but also give a bit of an upgrade. put a mec ure gp crank in with a 60 stroke( that's what I had on stock) so that would not have made it any easier with a short cylinder. I have also added an electronic ignition. I have lots of cast cylinders so will find a series 2 or 3 150cc to rebore to 175 or 185. put a wanted add out for a top end kit but the offers I received were all too good for this as I will be selling on once finished, don't think I would gain any more cash if put on a mugolla or gt etc. also the cost of rebore + head re-profile and piston kit bring you into the realm of the ebay cheapo cast/ally sr type kits.

Series ones pistons have the same compression height as a tv175 piston, 30mm, so yes you can bore out a series one cylinder to 175 if you use one of these pistons. You can also use a Suzuki TS185 piston and have 186cc.

Yeah, i was gonna say the ts185 route too. The series 1 barrel allows for a more milder tune than the standard short cylinder version. And you have the option of higher quality pistons. You will need a 1mm or so packer though. The wiseco pistons are solid and reasonably priced.

Beed speed sell the correct piston for about 35 quid. You might need to shorten the skirt of it too, not exactly sure by how much.
