Ts1 top end build

Hi all, looking for a bit of help when it comes to building up my ts1 top end & using a packer plate.

I've just uprated my crank to a 58x110 yam rod which requires the use of a 3mm packer plate at the base. I'm in the process of setting the correct squish but before I bolt it all down my question is with regards to the packer plate.
Does the plate require a gasket either side or do you install the plate without any gaskets :?: If installing without any gaskets then I'm concerned that this wont provide a good enough seal :?

If I need to install the plate without gaskets then I was thinking of using loctite 5920 at the base, I assume this will be ok :?:

Also if the squish requires no head gasket would the same loctite 5920 be ok or the head :?:

Help much appreciated.

Cheers
Mike

Hi Mike , no gaskets required on packer , just a smear of silicone or Loctite, I used Loctite flange sealant for the head, can't remember the number . No issues with either though.

Don't assume that you need a 3mm packer exactly. Depends on the casing you have. Have a read of this, in particular the second to last paragraph:

Cheers for the link :)

Just a bit confused on the right sealing product to use on either the base or head(if no gasket is required here) as loctite seem to have so many products :?

I agree with Storkfoot, my recent TS1 build used a 58x110 rodded crank and I ended up usinf a 2mm paker with a thick and thin gasket plus a thin head gasket in order to get the port timings right as well as a reasonable squish. I have built engines without gaskets in the past using Hermatite Instant Gasket (silicone) with no issues.
