hi my mate had a major sieze on his px125 dr180 yesterday and has killed his piston
now wants to do away with the autolube,
can you just leave the autolube parts in the engine and carb box etc and just block up the autolube pipe will this work alright
or will we need to remove the autolube parts and block up the holes with say chemical metal
fit a non autolube box and carb
cheers in advance steve

cut the pipe and screw a bolt into what is left to block the tube (one in each half of the cut tube)

Why cant you leave it where it is and empty the oil tank. This way when you ever go to sell or change your mind its still there.

Unless you block it off (as a minimum,) it'll suck in extra air via the drillings in carb box and carb.

cezeta has said the best option IMHO.
also ensure that the jetting etc suits the tuned motor.

Ok, what about buying a non autolube carburettor box, remove the oil axle thing that comes through the engine into the carburettor. When fitting the carb box use gasket paste. I know you can buy a plug for the oil axle thing and a needle type bearing for the other hole. I dont thing there is any need to be cutting anything.

Bit OTT to be honest.
Just cut the pipe and pop a large bolt into it. Voila: job done.

I'd say
1: Disengage oil pump from drive removing the cog that is driven by the one behind the clutch. (you don't want the pump whirring round un-lubricaterd)
2) Block the oilway between the pump and the carb (so air cannot be drawn through)
Job done.
If you remove the pump driveshaft which is not much more work, then plug that hole.
Simples
