Hi all,vespa 125 super,6 volt points ignition!

I've just gone through 3 sets of points and condensors in less than 10 miles! When i first fit a new set all seems fine,then ride for a couple of miles and it starts backfiring and eventually dies and wont start again! Ive noticed that when i eventually get it going again,the points are continually sparking as if the condensor has packed up,but i cant beleive ive had 3 duff ones!

Try changing the LT coil next. Pretty sure you will see all points spark to some degree .

When the engines running ok the points dont spark like they are now! I've got a spare stator plate so will try that next!

Dont suppose anyone knows stator resistance values for one of these 6 volt points jobbys?
