Hi, can anyone tell me how you can identify an Original GP Rear light unit. Looking at Sticky's it states that it was made by CEV (where these the only made).

I have just purchased an "original italian, came off a 1971 gp 200 electronic" off ebay to find the following:

"Lumax" this is the marking on the Light unit and Brytax, dgm 6389, LPXARLT isd the marking on the Lens with what looks like the SIL logo.

It looks Indian to me but can someone confirm.

Thi is the back of the original tail light from my 1971 electronic.

On Oz spec'ed GPs the hole on the bottom is for running the wires to the rear stalk indicators. Interesting, thought these were unique to Australian-market GPs.

There is a small semi circular cut out at the bottom which allows water to escape. Rainwater can get behind the tail light through the hole in the frame that the loom passes through.
Also shown is the large rubber grommet and sleeve nut that holds the assembly. The holes in the frame were made larger than earlier models to allow the grommet to give a semi rubber mount. Perhaps this was an attempt by Innocenti to extend bulb life.
