have just started running in my new touring motor, really pleased so far and the sito ancillotti pipe is really punchy from low down, BUT, its louder than I would like and ive heard its not unusual for loud bikes to be turned away from the Swiss border. I recall the gori pipes had a slip on muffler and am wondering 1/ who supplies, 2/ what affect do they have on performance (and noise reduction) and 3/ do sito acillotti`s and gori pipes share the same diameter tail pipe
many thanks
regards

I'm after the same. my indian "big bore" ive altered that's on my special is really loud (no wadding or mesh inside, but the baffle plate is still there) so was looking at this to quiet it down a bit.

I'm surprised its noisy. My Ancillotti was not a lot louder than standard, certainly quieter than an Indian big bore. On a long tour I'd be more worried about the thing falling to pieces. The steel is absolute rubbish.

When will you be in Switzerland? I'm hoping to go via there on the way to Pontedera before heading over to the Paddy Smith Rally.

oh not till next years eurolam, ive heard classic brit bikes turned away in the past, and I was in Switzerland last year and my experience with the border guards is they are perfectly happy to not let you in (or withhold vital information, when questioned as to why I didn't have my motorway pass I told the guard I wasn't going on the motorway, "ok" he answered very sarcasticly, I was shortly to find out there was no way of not going on the motorway from the road I was on!). Ive got used to riding around with a totally standard pipe and it seems noisy to me, would hate to get all that way to get turned back!
