Final call, GT186, RB20 or GT190

Looking to build an engine with lots of torque, GT186 and RB20 seem to cost the same and RT190, who knows?
My thoughts are, why not build a RB20 when they cost the same and give more power, with the right exhaust can it deliver good torque? Any input is appreciated, it will go on a series2 and I meed to get a new carb and crank.

rb 212

build an rb 212cc using rb20 + 62 116 crank

use the nk rally pipe and 30 mm mikuni and youll have a stonking set up(not built one yet(would like to) but i reckon 25/28 as std build and 30+ with a tune

That's the current build I'm doing now for myself, except using flat slide 30mm delly not Mikuni. I'm a solo rider and it'll be on a full bodied Li Special so hoping 4.4 gearing can be used on that pipe.

Thought about trying the Franspeed Super Tourer also.....but not dynoed one yet, let alone back 2 back with the NK Tour pipe so unsure on that option.

Should be a good setup though.....

No, not as long as the port timings are set/built correctly.....but regardless, the ADS/NK Tour pipe tames big port timings and peaks at around 6k, revs on till 7k and it gives oodles of torque.

forgot about super tourer which i think will be better still based on graphs ive seen it will be on pipe at 4500

id not go 4.4 dan think 4.8> will be needed ,the small block will give good power but low torque and not have the below 5k 15bhp we see from the 250,s

im on with my li too with rb20 and 62 116 but 65mm bore

They come with 66 as standard.....so I presume to fit into 210 class...yes?

What about Gt186, can they be stroked without messing up port timing? Any thoughts about a Gt186 and Big Box and maybe some work done to the cylinder? Thanks for your time.

yes the gt is a great kit too, can be stroked and tuned with good results and for pure touring use probably a better option

not seen tests on the kit with clubman on it yet
