a chap brought in his vespa today ,and told me that it stopped working over a year ago ..since then he has had a few mates looking at it and helping him to find out what the prob was .
his trouble was that when he tried to set off the engine revved but there was no movement in the rear wheel ...
he was advised by numerous mates that it was either a clutch or gearbox prob or both ,and would need a full engine rebuild at least and cos he was a bit strapped for cash and couldnt really afford such work he just left it for a year before bringing it in today .
so ,any guesses folks ?
and just to add ,I got it started and checked out the clutch operation which was fine apart from being slack due to cable adjustment.

No idea but FA Italia stuff seems to be some kind of a cottage cheese / chalk compound sprayed silver although I expect that's foodcolouring rather than paint.
