Painter nr.1 didn`t touch it for 4 months so I had to find another one that was slightly faster.... another 3 months

Image

Original Veedub Birch green done in Silkmatte...

Another Vespa hate! Theese fooking footboard strips were a real pain to fit... Good fit though.

Used the best part of a couple of days trying to fit the rear light flush (Siem). The spring that holds the main bulb had to be modyfied.

I`m only missing the rear hub cones. Orderd from Allstyles, 4 weeks ago and never turned up. recieved an email after 3 weeks of me pesturing them to give me a tracking number asking for some ID? WTF Isn`t visa good enough these days?
Anyways, orderd from another shop and that was sent last week... Only need a couple of hours to get it sorted. We have a bank holiday on thursday, so hoping my cone turns up tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Speck is standard GS engine, GS crank modified with a SS180 con-rod, 12v ignition, overbored SS180 top end. Broady is in the process of making me a propper piston for a 208 conversion.

Actually i am seriously thinking about riding it to our national rally here in Norway, and swapping it with a mate for his Li2..... lammies ride better and are easier to fix.

Recognise the Allstyles story, not ordering from them anymore.

I wouldn't bother with the 12V ignition if I was you; just finished my SS180 (208) restoration and running on new condenser and coil and it starts first kick every day, lights are bright and strong and the horn's tone varies with the engine revs. Everyone who sees it is amazed by how well it starts and the lighting :)

I did the conversion to 12v before I pulled it to bits.

Anyway, the good news is that I recieved my hub cones from Casa Lambretta UK (Scootopia) today!

Yippee!!

Famous last words ;)

Looking awesome though, but was the GS ever made in that colour?

No. These only came in boring white, and i hate white.

The colour is 1960`s VW Birch Green, looks nice and shiney in the pics but is matte.
