OK I give in - any tips on removing the exhaust downpipe on my series3 I've got one nut off but I can't even SEE the other one. I've loosened the cowl but that hasn't made much difference it seems nigh on impossible to get a spanner on it

11mm spanner flat by flat I'm afraid- and yes it is one of the sh****t jobs on a Lambretta!
Remove all cowl bolts and pull forward as far as possible then get the spanner up in there- many lads use a bent or cut off spanner
Thats the one I always ask myself "why am I still p1551ing about with Lambrettas at my age" type questions
Good Luck
Chris

Remove shock and bump stop. This will allow the cowl to be moved forward, then quite easy, just done it this afternoon...

Thanks all, I finally managed it. The good thing is that the shape of the new (to me) downpipe enables me to use a socket to tighten and undo. Just as well because I fitted the exhaust and when I started the bike up it was blowing from the manifold. It turned out that the face of the flange was as straight as a dogs back leg. After some filing all is well.

lol, after 25 years of Lambrettas its one of those jobs we all seem to have to do frequently but it still makes you tut and chunter just before you start
