Trying to fit anti dive bracket to my forks but then can't get the damper on due to fouling on the bracket bolts. I saw on here that others have had this and changed to button type allen head bolts. So, I got some of them myself but its still fouling.

I've tried bending out the top damper bracket a little. and if I then take out the hefty spring washer that came with the original bolts, twist the bracket away from the damper as far as it will go, and then move it down the fork I can get it on.

But with all of this it all seems far from ideal -- anyone any thoughts before I go out in the morning and scratch me head again? Am I missing something obvious?

hi i just countersunk the holes on mine and refitted with countersink bolts

or fit slim dampers, i coudnt get my bgm to fit

Countersinking may be the only way -- thanks for that.
They are escort slim dampers on there, which is why I wonder whether I'm doing something daft. I've seen pics with other larger dampers.

i hav slim dampers with anti dive they are fine, u sure u bolting the tie bar in right pos on forks

I had problems fitting with my BGM shockies, made worse by the fact that I think the top shock bracket was welded in slightly the wrong place (its further "in" than the left side).
I decided to mount the BGMs "outboard" of the mounting, this was helped by the fact that the bottom shock mounts are the bolt on type and I could space them further out as well.
My next project is to make some better bottom shock mounts that will suit this setup without the extra washers!
Not sure if you can see from this pic, but I put a spacer between the two upper lugs for strength and used a longer bolt all the way through.

i used kawasaki dampers and changed all the bolts to flanged button head type - they are shallower than button heads

The lower I put the clamp the more room there is -- I'm wondering whether the top damper bracket on my forks is somehow smaller than normal or welded in the wrong position. Dampers lean in slightly towards the top.

Going to go out now and have another go by countersinking the bolt hole.

If I want to put some different dampers on at some time in the future then Minority's solution looks like a good answer.
