Hi all, I'm having an RB engine built and I'm going with the cyclone box. I'm using SX type drops on my scoot and the clutch lever ( Yamaha ) comes pretty close to the leg shield beading in 4th. I'm a bit concerned that it may actually touch the beading when I select 5th. Is anyone using the Cyclone box with drops that can confirm there's no problems? Cheers Pete.

From what I've read 1st and 5th are in the same spot as 1st and 4th. The gears are thinner so the overall travel on the bar end remains the same, just smaller movement between gears. Make sense?

easy just don't turn left when in 5th (sorry couldn't resist
)
but on a serious note could you not just move neutral setting say 5mm to you
on handlebar top even if you have clearance normally, will that give just a little more
if that makes sense maybe a solution.
i mean who actully looks at gearchange when riding.
i have seen peaple go into first and thought the gear cable must have snapped its so vertical!!!

Not sure how much room there is but it maybe possible to get a larger gear wheel turned up.

Yes standard type SX leg shields the Yamaha lever is pretty close to them in 4th. I like the lever because of the ease I can pull the clutch in with it, so don't really want to change it, plus the gear change is filed to match. I think I'll just see what it's like when the engine is fitted. If I have to mess about with 1st gear location and move it abit it's no biggie, I'm not a purist in that sense. Cheers all.
hmmmm , I have a GP with drops and a 5 speed kit sitting on my shelf waiting to fit..... anyone know for sure?

That was the point of this thread but, it seems nobody is using a Cyclone with drops or at least noboby thats seen this. I'm sure someone will come along and confirm either way.immylam wrote:hmmmm , I have a GP with drops and a 5 speed kit sitting on my shelf waiting to fit..... anyone know for sure?
