Ive had a BGM/MBD 12volt DC rear light fitted to my bike for over a year now i have just realised the brake light part isnt working anymore , the main light LED's still come on fine when i flick the switch , all wiring looks ok and is connected fine at the rear brake junction box. Anybody have any idea how long they are supposed to last before you need to replace the whole unit ? if need be i will buy a new one when it was working it was the best brake light ive ever had on a scooter. Any thoughts ?

If the light part works try swapping the wires the two wires over. If it then works the other way, it looks like your rear barke light switch (which aren't the best of switches and can get crudded up easily)

am not sure but dont they use the same led's, go brighter with brake on, which could point to wiring/switch.

you could try putting a battery feed direct ?

i wired the unit round the other way and i have power perhaps ive been unlucky and have a faulty unit or the vibration has damaged the board in some way.

Separate LED's for brake light and rear light.

I would get a magnifying glass and have a very good look at the soldering for the brake lights. Most likely it is vibration as you say in which case a blob of solder might be all it needs.
