malossi 210 gearing

hello,

after my project sitting on the back burner for about a year its now back on my agenda

any way here is where im up to, but im not sure about gearing -

malossi 210 - casings matched

serie pro 60mm long stroke flowed crank

sip long stroke head

sip performance pipe

si 24.24 carb - float chamber 3mm spacers, polini venturi kit

sip fast flow fuel tap

t5 4th gear

old 7 spring px banded clutch, malossi silver springs, 3 plate

running an oversized rear tyre - 120/90/10 (sip wide wheel)

gearing -

now a year or so ago someone recommended and i can't remember where,

to go for 22/68 gearing, so i got the parts,

but running it through the gearing calculators just doesn't seem to add up,


the idea for my project was to build a long stroked malossi, so that even though its set up more for touring you can still open it up when you want to,

so im just looking for gearing will suit it best,

im trying to get this sorted for kelso, so pressure is on,

I use 22/68 on mine and it works well pulls 4th great. Im using a jl pipe and 28mm carb, cut crank etc,etc with this gearing it revs and is always on the power making it great fun to ride but i wouldn't want to go touring on it as would be always stopping for petrol

yer but i have an oversized rear tyre, which upgears it by about 7% i think, so theoretically should bring it back down to normal

other thing im considering is ditching the long stroke, iv not bought it yet,

what do you think if i just kept the decent 57mm mec ur race crank i already have in the engine, but want to keep the si carb

I cant comment on the crank can only say what i have. Which works well
