PX disc speedo cable

All

I am rebuilding a set of PX disc forks and am going to replace the speedo cable, inner and outer - the type with the plastic clip connector to the speedo. Can anyone tell me whether or not there is supposed to be a plastic gromet on the bottom fork end under the black rubber and bolted plate? I wasn't really paying attention when I stripped it!

Cheers

Do you mean the support block that sits flush in the hub ?

When I took the small oval plate off the bottom end and pulled the cable out of the hole, I thought I saw a nylon gromet around the bottom of the outer cable (where the rubber goes around the outer cable and sits in the recess under the late). It could have been part of the plastic cover on the outer that had 'rucked' up, but I wanted to check before rebuilding it.

The new cable didn't have a gromet with it when it came.

Watch out though, the PX Disc set-up, top pic, (and Grimeca disc) uses a shorter top hat than the old PX drum brake. Make sure you get the right kit.
