I've heard that this kind oil might damage the clutch discs. My favorite is ST90 rockoil.

Just on gear oil questions i seen one today discription on bottle was , Gear oil mineral ,limited slip GL-5, it is Sae90, so i was wondering is this an ok oil to use as st90 round here is impossible to get hold of, thanx Hicksy.

I've just filled my gearbox with sae90. Got if from a scooter dealer and planning a trip to France next weekend.
I haven't used st90 for years.

All is good then, people don't need to panic if the bottle doesn't say st90 or have the word Lambretta printed on the label.

Hi i had a look at oils last night, well mostly the letters and numbers on some bottles , and on the one i had looked at an sae90 with limited slip and GL-5 on the bottle, the GL-5 means i think more additives, that going by the site means it's not to kind to yellow metals, brass etc, a GL-4 would be fine but it just goe's to show that not all sae90 oils are good to go,Hicksy.
