So a week or so ago my speedo, Italian, stopped working and as it was just after I had had my headset splitted I thought the cable simply wasnt attached properly.

Checked it the other night only (who needs a speedo anyway?) and it was connected, but the inner cable broken at the speedo gear in the hub.

Ordered a new cable from ever so reliable scooter restorations which arrived after 48 hours.

Changed it in the man cave tonight and spun the wheel to check it was working. It wasnt. Instead the entire cable kit, outer and inner, was spiralling up so checked the speedometer with the old cable and noticed the speedo is completely stuck. The cable can not be rotated within the fitting on the speedo. No wonder the inner broke in the first place.

To the point... Has something similar happened to anyone else and is there an easy cure for it? Or is it speedo king in the US alternatively discarding the speedo that is the next step?

Fortunately I was getting a digital SIP speedo in a couple of months but in the meantime I'd like to keep track on how far I'm going...

Grateful for any input!

Cheers V
