Brake Light Switch

My widebody vespa has a rather awkward brake light switch arrangement. Basically its a universal switch that works by hooking a spring around the lever on the hub. As the cable pulls the lever, the spring operates the switch. It works but its all a bit Heath Robinson. Has anyone else come up with a more elegant solution?

No not really, but can you not fit a brake switch into the front brake master cylinder. Similar to the PX. Or can you post a picture of the rear brake pedal, as you could fit one similar to the GS150, VBB, Sportique ect.

The front has a switch in the master cylinder but I thought it would be a good idea to wire both. I'll take a picture.

you can get inline switches that clamp around the rear brake cable, a little less heath, but supposed to be a bit hilary (it swank), lots of old british stuff had to be retrofitted with a brake light, i also have to come up with a solution for this on a chop
