It just died!!!

Scoot just died on me yesterday (Special with 175 barrel/clubman exhaust, electronic ignition) Been running sweet for about 15 miles beforehand no problems then just died at traffic lights.

So :
1 Changed plug checked for spark - seemed ok.
2 Petrol getting through (wet plug)
3 Checked all connections (CDI and headset) - all seems ok.
4 Removed green wire from CDI still got spark but wouldn't start - not switch problem.
5 Tried to bump - not having it.
6 Gave up - called mate with van!

So today tried all the above again, replaced petrol and cleaned carb (jets 45,50 and 122) still no joy.

That's me stumped, so would appreciate any advice. Cheers.

When ever I run in to an odd one like that I like to start off with a compression test. More than once I've found motors only producing 60psi. Which means it broke/stuck a ring or head leak.

If the compression checks out (+100 psi) then look in to ignition and carb. Being electronic you can ohm out the ignition to make sure it's at least on target to what it should be. Even though it's making spark it might not be under pressure.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
The last work done was the 175 head fitted and electronic ignition a couple of years ago, with no major problems since.
It is prone to flooding but not this time.
I'll have to take it in somewhere for more investigation (compression test, woodruff key etc) As I've said, sadly thats out of my depth.
Oh, and yes it was a white van

The reason i asked was because there's one or two people on here that seem to have a big problem with white vans, see we do have our uses, hope you you sort your problem out.

Only problem I have with white vans is when people use them to get to rallies and then pretend they have ridden there.
