Out of the box with 30mm PHBH & Franspeed Race: TT3 24bhp @ 6900rpm vs TS1 20bhp @ 7600rpm.....torque vs talk.

I've been reading lots on here about them, mates all ride ts's down here in Devon there's no one with an avanti so just not sure. The big plus for me would be not cutting the floor because the carb sits on the l/h side as opposed to right with a ts1.

I ride an Avanti and have been on lots of rallies, last year I put 3000 miles on it, I am more than happy with it. I have just done the Scarborough rally and for the last 40 miles of the return journey, I kept the throttle fully open and it never missed a beat. I am more than happy with the acceleration and the reliability. Additional fact, I am running at 3% groundsman oil, so for me ... I would say the Avanti.

I rode Rons demo bike a few years ago with the Franspeed race on it.I thought it was quicker/smoother out the box than a std.TS1.

I've been running my Avanti for a year now (30 PHBH and JL3) and have just put a TS1 into my other scooter. Only covered about 5 miles with the TS so far, it's set up for touring and currently running an Ancilotti and 30mm PWK. The TS1` is a bit cleaner at low revs probably due to the reed valve but despite having higher gearing the Avanti has far more acceleration.

Its well documented my Avanti experiences, Ive owned and ran a TS and as Coaster says really, my TS was quicker and cleaner low down but the Avanti is much stronger pull through the gears and ive just fitted a Franspeed race and its took another step up tbh and a lot closer low down to the TS..

just wait until the E10 fuel comes into play, that 30% cooler running will come into its own and your mates TS'S will have an extra hole in their pistons

TS proven over the years IMHO

I've had my Avanti over a year now and can't fault it. done just over 2k miles and any problems have not been down to the Avanti. Can't comment on TS's too much as i've never owned one, but one of the lads i ride with has had a couple and says he wishes he had the Avanti. His decision made by the ability to pull taller gears which lowers your rev's at higher speeds. it's noticeable when we're riding that he's revving more than me. I also seem to get a few more MPG than him, he puts say 5l in and i'll put 4 1/2, not a massive difference but means you go further on a full tank, so less stops.
