Just finished building the S Type, running a 186 Mugello V2 taffy copy pipe and a 26mm dellorto, got rough settings from cambridge, was running really reach so put a leaner needle in (x7) and downjetted to a 100 main, runs a hell of alot better, still a little bit spluttery lower down the rev range but ridable, on the way home from work going up a slight hill, she just cut out, pulled over, attempted to kick her over, nothing. played with the fuel tap a bit,(full tank of fuel) it was on reserve (dohh) so put it on the on position choke on, started her up. hey presto, got her home thought i would have a look at the colour of the plug, but the plug was wet through, got a fast flow fuel tap on but i dont think it would affect it much, but could be wrong. other thing im thinking is the atomiser right? any ideas ?

your carb settings were rough and on the rich side cos of the 268 that they often just fit to ensure safe "running in "without probs ,
i would suggest that you return to all the previous spec but just try a 266
