I'm currently running a smallblock AF 198cc with 22mm Jetex and MB Clubman, I've had the kit on now for about 18mths and It's never missed a beat with current jettings of 48/50 and a main of 130 but with the 150 slide but 200 atomiser (I fitted the slide when the engine was running it's standard 125 top end)

Following a plug chop after fitting the new Clubman I found the colour to be a nice light brown so was happy with this as It was always a bit rich before but having the 150 slide in bothered me as everything I read suggests I should really be running the 200 one.

I put the 200 one in and it seems a lot 'flatter' mid range whereas with the 150 slide in it really picks up well so I've put that back in.

Could It be the large main jet is masking any mid range issues?

Am I asking for trouble with the 150 slide and why would it seem better with what is essentially a leaner slide (as far as I understand) bearing in mind apart from the new exhaust this set up has done about 3000 trouble free miles.

Personally: If it was running well at all areas of the carburation. eg. starting, mid-range, top-end. I would leave it alone.

^... agreed. Let the engine tell you what it wants, rather than try to fit what works on a different engine.

Many thanks, just being a bit panicky I guess.
