Is there a knack to using a rubber carb mount on a lambretta manifold?
For reason I won't bore you with, got a deli 26mm on a mugello small bore 200
kit and the carb has come off twice now. Am I doing it up too tight or not enough ?
The rubber parts company with the manifold not the carb
Ta steve

Is the carb hitting the floorboard when you sit in the bike?
Be worth posting a picture of the carb / manifold area.
Sometimes if you do the jubilee clips up to tight it can force the rubber off.
Some rubbers also fit better with the grooves on the carb manifold than others.

I agree with Rosscla, overtightening can squeeze the rubber off, it only needs to be tight enough to prevent turning.

Make sure the manifold and rubber are a tight fit without the clips first ! Some are very sloppy. And make sure they are free of oil and grease !

i would check which manifold you have and the rubber, you should have a groove on the end of the manifold where the rubber sits into it. also make sure you use decent jubilee clips, full width and not the skinny ones

Thanks chaps cleaned it and changed jubilee. See how it goes now tightened as you suggested
