RB250 - 36bhp - lovely spread of power for a novice rider to learn the ropes without sh177ing his pants (too much!!)

They look 'sparse' do cut-downs....but involve a surprising amount of work!

This is what we are given to work with......doesn't look like much to start with! Full length head stock and various mounts/struts need removing.

Forks need cutting, sleeving and welding to match the new lower frame.
Left to Right: Standard Length, pair that's been done, pair getting done

Two different 62mm/116mm cranks. The one on the left comes with con-rod machined so that you don't have to scoop out the casings. The one on the right clearly protrudes at the big end so needs casings scooping/machining out. The PM crank on the right also runs a shimmed big end.

Needs a proper frame/brace for racing seat....don't want it falling off when someone bumps starts you!

With the forks i notice you cut out a section and weld them back together.......would it not be better to cut to length and re-cut thread at top of forks ?

i suppose that you could try it that way ,maybe its just swings and roundabouts as to which way you prefer ..but bear in mind that you would also need to re cut the groove for locking tab and for the headset clamp bolt .
