Bought one of these but it has come with the axle already inserted.

Anyone got any ideas how to get it off the axle.

Have removed the caliper but can't get the hub off to get at the retaining circlip which I think is holding it on to the axle.

Tried hitting axle with rubber mallet but no joy.

Remove the cover, split pin and nut. Spray a little wd40 around the axle, turn over and tap with a plastic/rubber mallet. It can take a good few hits. Hit at each of the hub studs from the back. Do not use a metal hammer, the hub is made from an alloy and very brittle.
