Dot 4 fluid ,easiest way is one of those kits from halfords or somewhere but failing that a piece of clear tubing that fits snugly over the bleed nipple with the end in a jam jar that has a small amount of fluid covering the end of the pipe to prevent air being drawn in .Fill the reservoir with fluid and then open the bleed nipple and then pump the lever until fluid comes out the pipe into the jar all the time making sure you keep the res topped up ,once fluid has started to come out the tube close the nipple and top up res ,now you need to have the lever in the resting position ,open the bleed nipple and pull the lever to the bars as if breaking ,hold it there and do up the bleed nipple ,continue this until no more air bubbles come out of the tube into the jar and the lever feels firm remembering to keep the res topped up all the time .
hope that makes sense and is some help

Make sure you have a rag around the reservoir and over your legshield. Brake fluid can destroy the paint. It's one of those jobs that can take 5mins or an hour. When doing this its very important that you keep the reservoir topped up otherwise you are just pumping more air into the line.
