Hi I want to re-pack my silencer (jl3 newish type) my question is which is the best end to drill the rivets out.
Thanks in advance.
Phil.

On mine I started on the end nearest the exhaust which turned out to be the wrong end, as there's a thick alloy plate that end and nowhere for the drilled rivets to pop out to.
Having done that I'd start at the tail end.
Refitting the binding bands and working the riverter is also a three hand job.

I found it best to use the blanket type rather than the loose fill. find a length of plastic water pipe that just slips over the inner perforated pipe. It's then just a matter of wrapping it round the plastic pipe, securing with some masking tape and sliding it in and then removing the plastic pipe.

The perforated tube was all coked up on mine which is why it wasn't silencing anymore.
I cleaned it up and just cut off the coked up matting and reused what was left.
