Doe's anyone know the minimum distance between the magnet and sensor for a SIP speedo? Thanks in advance Pete.

Just connect it all up and see if the blue light on the sensor goes off/on as magnet/bolt passes the sensor. If the blue light changes state (i.e. off to on or on to off, can never remember which way round it is) all should be fine.

Which blue light? Is it inside the speedo? Cheers Pete

Neat mounting!

From memory (and that seems to be getting worse day by day  ) the light is where the cable exits the sensor, so you should be OK. I'll check when I get home tonight.
As it's an active sensor you will need power to the speedo, so you need to supply the +12v from the battery or have the engine running. All being well, if you spin the wheel you will see the blue light go off and on, once per revolution.
You can check the sensor by undoing your grub screw, removing the sensor and bringing a normal bolt head upto the sensor (that will also show you how close the activation distance is), again, make sure you have power to the speedo.

So, I checked and you will be able to see when it lights up and it lights up when it senses the magnet/bolt, this is mine sensing the rear wheel stud:

Fantastic thanks for that and I like the way you've mounted yours very simple but effective. Thanks again Pete.
