VBB rear hub nuts

The standard 8mm rear hub nuts dont have washers fitted, but they have a collar.
I have a new rear hub boss from SIP which is designed to fit the px axle for a 8" conversion, the new studs are 10mm, I have the 10mm nuts, but am unsure if they should have any spring or wavy washers on them for safety, any ideas?
