AF NK mid-pipe?

Have just taken delivery of a NK-mid which has been out for a few months now and noticed that it doesnt have a 2nd fixing towards the can end, nothing came with the kit apart from a spring and gasket and there doesnt seem to be any fixings on the pipe to take another bracket. Also no fixings on the can. Is this how its meant to be , just the onje bracket. It does seem quite a short pipe so this may be the case?

anyone running one of these can let me know would be cool? Would also be good to know how people rate them. when I brought it, AF said they had introduced it to sit between there race & touring pipes. Apparantley they will jet the carb for this sort of mid-set up as well.

Cheers sef

Sorry for late reply, be careful of the down pipe, mine bottomed out when two up,( admittedly it was a big pot hole with two fat blokes on at the time). exhaust cracked shortly after, had it re welded three times. have since fitted a Franspeed tourer, which has the end can seperate and with its own fixings.

lost some top end power but is miles better for cruising, and quieter.

Leigh, did you have the NK mid? Its well short so can understsnd it not needing the extra support. Was hoping the pipe would make it quite civilised, but i suspect taht its gonna be a revvy mother....What did you think of the set up and what carb are you running.

thanks again for the studds

Sef,

Mine was a touring pipe(thats what i asked for), it initially snapped on the tail pipe. Then other places. The NK is solid mounted to the engine or mine was, the franspeed has nylon and rubber bushes. just think that and the hefty grounding finished it of early. Just make sure your rear shocky is in good nick and if you run two up check your ground clearance, and im sure it will be fine.

running mine on a 34 delly not everyones choice but i like it. came ready jetted plus a main one above and one below what was fitted.pretty sure AF will send it rich to be on the safe side.

This is on an RB22.

As for the studds glad could be of help.

Yeah when i looked at mine i thought there could be a few vibration issues only having the one fixing. May see if i can add some damping material betwewen the fixing plates and the nuts/washers. Doesnt look as there will be much clearance so me be wafer thin and therefor usless... :(
