Fitting A 12 Litre Tank

Just dry building, and find the 12 litre tank so tight to the toolbox that, when the time comes, I stand no chance of fitting this without damaging paint. I'd prefer to fit rubbers on the seam but it looks like I barely stand a chance if getting the strap on without scraping off a layer of paint.
Any tips on how you fitted yours?
Thanks :-)

if it is better the thin them out

The rubbers as fitted make no difference to the front & back clearance where the seam touches.
Has anyone else had this problem?

With my 12/13 L tank with double carb cutouts from buzzslomoto I have a gap approximatly 20mm between the tank and toolbox... But getting the straps on without scratching the paint was a bit of an issue, with my ape like approach.

I had one of these and couldn't even get it in the frame. Ended up sending it back and bought a Buzzsolomoto one. That was still tight, but I managed to squeeze it in.

Just a thought. Why don't you buy a couple of these and make your own? Should be doable for someone with a bit of welding skill.

i fitted a Stainless SSC (TS1 cut out) one to an indian GP it required all the rubbers to be reduced slightly but once done there was a gap between toolbox - i managed to fit it without removing the toolbox

have never fitted one to a S2
